Ph.D. in Earth Sciences. Scientific collaborator at Universitat de Barcelona

Nuria   I obtained my Ph.D in Earth Sciences at the University of Barcelona in 2021. My research focuses on the study of exotic mineralogy in ophiolitic chromitites and associated rocks. In this line of study, I have applied detailed mineralogical techniques to investigate a range of unusual minerals in ultramafic rocks such as diamond and moissanite, always integrating this information within the geological context, including field geology, petrology, and geochemistry to characterize different geological processes. This multiapproach research has allowed me to get familiar with a wide range of analytical techniques and use a methodological work sequence that can be applied in very different fields of research. My broad interests include the study of the oceanic lithosphere, mantellic processes, serpentinization, metal transport and the formation of ore deposits, especially in mafic and ultramafic rocks, and I have collaborated in many different studies regarding these topics.
